Political Action

 

Right now there are powerful forces trying to remove teacher protections, slash aid to public schools, and cut services to students.   Teacher support is needed to protect the hard-fought victories it took so long to achieve and to preserve a thriving public education system.  If not teachers, who will fight this fight?

 

Politicians and billionaires who are not working best interest of our students are currently defining the policies impacting public education. Thru the HTA Community Action Fund contributions, participation in political advocacy, and becoming a regional political voice we will re-define the public narrative that is currently scapegoating public education and educators, into a story that values its public education system and recognizes the importance of its educators.  The Hastings Teachers Association is politically active organization that is working to ensure pro-public education legislation that will improve teaching and learning!
